High density Connector

0

Hi,
I intended to use the ABX00042 but get little bit confuse since I can't see part number of High density connectors. Does the footprint of High density connector (J1 & J2) , i.e. DF40HC(3.5)-80DS-0.4V(51) show the connector at host board? or it shows connector at Arduino Protenta H7, i.e. DF40C-80DP-0.4V(51)?

I need to have correct part number DF40HC(3.5)-80DS-0.4V(51) in the BOM which mate correctly with Arduino Protenta H7 (ABX00042)

Best Regards
Afshin

Hello Afshin,

Thank you for waiting while we checked your question.

Upon review, the high-density connectors on the ABX00042 [https://www.snapeda.com/parts/ABX00042/Arduino/view-part/ ] are Hirose connectors with part number DF40C-80DS-0.4V(51) [https://www.hirose.com/en/product/document?clcode=CL0684-4002-0-51&productname=DF40C-80DS-0.4V(51)&series=DF40&documenttype=2DDrawing&lang=en&documentid=0001001229 ], which are the receptacle versions.

Please note that the connector used on the ABX00042 device itself is the male Hirose connector with part number DF40C-80DP-0.4V(51).

If you intended to use a different mating part number with the -HC suffix as mentioned, please let us know. We would be happy to assist with modifying the footprint based on your required part number.

For anything else, please let us know, and we will be glad to assist.

All the best,
Dizar

Hi Dizar,
Thanks for your response and clearification of the module symbol build!
I understand that 3D step file But how could a ABX00042 symbol and footprint be of interest in a design?
If you want to use the actual ABX00042 (Arduino Portenta H7) in a host board then you need to have a symbol and footprint that could mate with correct connector at host board, i.e. DF40HC(3.5)-80DS-0.4V(51).
In additon should be possible to generate that there are 2 x Hirose High density connector DF40HC(3.5)-80DS-0.4V(51) in the BOM for this module which I can't get if I use your symbol if I modified manually ;).
So, answe to your question! Yes, it would be great if you could create a symbol for a ABX00042 host board that mates with ABX00042.

Bet Regards.

Hello Afshin,

Thank you for replying and for clarifying that you would like to use the Hirose -HC version for mating.

Since the recommended layout for this connector is slightly different, our engineers will work on creating a suitable version for you.

Could you please confirm which ECAD tool you will be using, so we can deliver the model in the correct format?

Best regards,
Dizar
