Footprint Package Format

-1

On the homepage the chip is indicated with SOT23A, when I insert the library into KiCAD I find only SOT95 there.

Is this just a different name or where is the error?

Thanks,

Steffen

Hello,

Thanks for letting us know - It seems this library has a different package description than the part. We are going to investigate this and we will get back to you soon.

Hello!

Thank you for patiently waiting. The symbol and footprint of MCP1703T-3302E were updated and are ready to be downloaded.

The SOT95P255X145-3N is the SOT23 package type, footprint name is based on IPC.

Please reach back to us if you have any other inquiries - We'd be glad to help!

I have downloaded the footprint again as of March 2026, but I cannot see any changes to the supposed SOT-23 package. It still appears as the SOT95 configuration, where the center pin is defined as the output instead of being an input.

Hello Tiras,
Thank you for patiently waiting while we checked the model.
Upon review, we were not able to reproduce any pin mapping issues on our end. The model was created based on datasheet revision F (https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/22049f.pdf ), and as shown on page 1, VIN is connected to Pad 3, which is reflected the same way in the footprint.
Regarding the footprint naming, it starts with SOT95 because it was generated following IPC-7351B standards. In this naming, 95 indicates the 0.95 mm pitch, while the package itself corresponds to SOT-23A.
If you would prefer a manufacturer-recommended footprint pattern for this part, please let us know, and we will be happy to provide it in your preferred CAD format.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or feedback. We’re happy to help!
All the best,
Dizar
